The US-Israel- Iran war has entered its second week, causing several instances of destruction in the Middle East. Find a comprehensive report on the war and its consequences globally here.

Amidst several social media commentaries on the war, an X user, @Abrantielove, in a post, has shared a flyer suggesting the leader of North Korea has threatened to join the war if any of his citizens get harmed.

“Finally, he has a reason to join, @grok, is this true?” the post was captioned.

As of the publication of this report, the post had garnered 1,600,000 views, 13,000 likes, 893 reposts, and 533 bookmarks.

DUBAWA decided to probe further because of its virality.

Verification

To verify this claim, DUBAWA conducted a Google keyword search with the statement “Kim Jong-Un’s statement on US-Israel- Iran war.” Findings from the search did not reveal any news publication or report by any credible global news outlet on Kim Jong Un making any comments related to the US-Israel-Iran war.

Considering that the war has gained international traction and that various world leaders have been reported to have commented on the situation, Jong Un’s comments would have been reported.

However, recent reports on Jong Un have focused on his observation of weapons fired from Choe Hyon,  a year-old “naval destroyer” with his daughter, Kim Ju Ae. Find reports on this act here, here, and here.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted Kim Jong Un as saying the launches were meant to demonstrate the navy’s strategic offensive posture and get troops familiarised with weapons firings.

The missile firing and observation came after a U.S.-South Korean springtime military exercise. North Korea often responds to these exercises with its own weapon tests.

Again, other recent news reports about Kim Jong Un have questioned whether his daughter will become his heir after they were spotted in similar outfits at recent events.

Conclusion

The claim that Kim Jong Un has threatened to join the ongoing US-Israel- Iran war is false. There is no publication by any credible news outlet on the North Korean leader making such comments.
