Claim: The former Director of Communications at the Office of the late President John Evans Atta Koku Anyidoho has shared a news card quoting Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang criticising Sammy Gyamfi for his recent public utterances.
Verdict: False. DUBAWA found no credible record of the Vice President making the statement. The Vice Presidency has also denied the attribution, while the purported GHOne graphic does not conform to the media organization’s usual quote-card format.

A flyer circulating on social media and attributed to GHOne TV claims that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang criticised the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, over his recent public utterances.
The flyer was shared on X by Koku Anyidoho, former Director of Communications at the Office of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, amid growing public discussion over comments made by Mr Gyamfi. It has also been shared on Facebook.
The text accompanying the purported GHOne news card quotes the vice president as saying: “You don’t have to speak to Ghanaians like that if you are a leader. If you occupy a public office, you must always be ready to answer questions.”
Mr Gyamfi has recently faced public scrutiny over some of his public comments and responses to questions concerning GoldBod’s operations. On August 19, 2026, he appeared on the Government Accountability Series, where he responded to questions about GoldBod’s reported losses and other issues concerning the institution.
Mr Anyidoho shared the graphic at a time when public discussion had intensified over Mr Gyamfi’s conduct. The timing of the purported quote appears to link the vice president to the ongoing debate over his public utterances.
The post, which was published on X, has garnered about 46,000 views and over 700 likes. Given that the claim attributes the statement to the Vice President, DUBAWA subjected the quote and the purported GHOne TV graphic to verification to establish whether Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang actually made the remarks.
Verification
DUBAWA’s checks, however, found no credible evidence that the Vice President made the quoted remarks. Checks of publicly available reports and official communications from the Vice Presidency did not find any speech, interview, statement, or other record in which the Vice President made the quoted comments.
Importantly, the Vice Presidency has also denied that Professor Opoku-Agyemang made the statement, describing the purported quotation as false. DUBAWA reached out to the vice presidential correspondent of Channel One TV, Sarah Appiah, for clarification on whether the Vice President had made such a comment. She said the Vice President’s office had debunked the same flyer.

DUBAWA also examined the design of the purported GHOne graphic. The flyer does not correspond with the format normally used by GHOne TV for its quote cards. The media organisation has debunked the claim, describing it as false.
Conclusion
DUBAWA’s verification found that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang did not make the statement. No credible record of the purported remarks was found, and the Vice Presidency has expressly denied the attribution.
