Verification

DUBAWA’s investigation revealed that an artificial intelligence tool was utilized to create the purported video of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie discussing his game app.

An evaluation of the video revealed a disconnect between the words spoken and the movement of the rapper’s and the newscaster’s lips.

Using Invid-WeVerify and Prover, video authentication platforms, the analysis disclosed that the video was not authentic.

Invid-WeVerify and Prover are user-interactive platforms that help to confirm video authenticity by exposing forgery.

Reacting in an X post, the rapper and Accra-based Joy News TV, whose logo featured prominently in the video, labelled the video “fake.”

Commenting on the video, Sarkodie said, “AI getting out of hand…fake.”

Additionally, the media outlet posted a screenshot of the purported video interview with the word “FAKE” embossed on it.

Similarly, a Google keyword search conducted by DUBAWA disclosed that no credible media organisation in the country has reported on the purported Sarkodie’s app.

Conclusion

The purported JOY NEWS interview video of Sarkodie talking about his game application is AI-generated.
