Social media accounts use wrong image to represent new Twitter CEO

Claim: Social media users share a photo of a certain lady, claiming she is Twitter’s new Chief Executive Office.

Verdict: DUBAWA Ghana traced the image to a Twitter account consistently posting adult content.

Elon Musk announced a new Chief Executive Officer for Twitter earlier this month.

“Excited to announce that I’ve a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in 6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops,” Elon Musk said in a tweet

Subsequently, he named, in another tweet, Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter,” he indicated.

Since the announcement, various online users have been seen sharing the image of a lady suggesting that she is the new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino.

Through a reverse image search, we noticed that the same image had been posted by an online user on Twitter whose bio, when translated to English, reads, “I’m making images with AI! Thank you for following and retweeting!”

The account posted the image on April 26, 2023, with the caption “Topic Box Request> Busty Politician.”

We observed that the account was consistent with posting adult content.

Who is Linda Yaccarino?

According to a publication by the BBC

“Ms Yaccarino was raised in an Italian-American family. After graduating from Penn State, she worked at Turner Entertainment for 15 years before joining NBCUniversal, where she oversaw roughly 2,000 people and was involved with the launch of its streaming service.”

During her 12 years at NBCUniversal, her team generated more than $100bn (£80bn) in advert sales, according to a publication by Sky News.
