Claim: NDC supporters stormed the Kpandai Collation Centre to disrupt the exercise, according to JoyNews (Archived).

Verdict: True

Explanation

The Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition spoke to a local journalist, Kissi Samuel, who confirmed the incident occurred between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM on December 8, 2024, at the Kpandai District Assembly while the collation process was underway.

According to the reporter, the NDC supporters arrived in vehicles branded with the party’s colours in disagreement with the election results which certified the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate as the winner.

“Before we realised, they entered the collation centre room, all the materials the EC were using, they destroyed everything, the projector, the laptop, the computers, the papers, the pink sheet, the verification machine, everything, they destroyed everything,” the journalist said.

The claim that supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) disrupted the collation exercise at the Kpandai collation centre has been verified as true.
