Ghanaian singer and rapper, Kenneth Opoku, popularly known as O’Kenneth, has been in the news all year after the release of his much-anticipated album, Came of Age. Many of his fans believe the album is the best collection of songs released in Ghana in 2026.
While eulogising the buzzing artist, X user @blessfrmdo shared a 46-second video snippet (archived here) of Kenneth performing and claimed the artist has churned out masterpieces and achieved a great feat at age 22.
“O’Kenneth is only 22 years old. Was any Ghanaian hip-hop artist this good at 22?” he wrote.
As of Sept. 22, 2026, the post had garnered 16,000 views, 550 likes and 68 reposts.
Because the claim could misinform the public, DUBAWA verified it.
Verification
DUBAWA’s checks revealed that O’Kenneth stated in a recent interview that he is 26 years old.
In an interview on Breakdown with KSS, uploaded on July 21, 2026, the artist said he was 26 years old when interviewer Kwadwo Sheldon asked a point-blank question.
When DUBAWA checked, online sources gave conflicting dates for O’Kenneth’s exact birth year. Some claimed he was born on August 13, 1999, while others mentioned 1998 and 1993, though they all agreed on the day and month. However, none of them corroborated the 22-year-old claim.
Conclusion
