Ghana’s social media has been inundated with a purported third batch of President John Mahama’s ministerial list on Jan. 17, 2025.
The list featured personalities such as Kofi Adams, the Buem Constituency Member of Parliament, as the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, and Ningo Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, designated as the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.

The matter gained traction when one of the first tweets hinting at Kofi Adams as the chosen candidate stemmed from Joy Sports’ 2024 GJA Sports Journalist of the Year, Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), @Muftawu said,
“Kofi Adams to replace Nii Lante Vanderpuye at Ministry of Sports and Recreation? Grapevines have suggested so.”
The statement gained over 35,000 impressions on the platform, with some followers questioning the source of his information.
Social media data showed the purported list had received over 100,000 combined views, 130,000 reposts, and 35,000 likes as of Jan. 17, 2025.
With the tendency to cause misinformation, DUBAWA decided to investigate further.
Verification
DUBAWA’s research showed the list is false.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Member of Parliament who doubles as Mr Mahama’s spokesperson, denied the list, describing it as “fake.”
Taking to X at 11:47 am on Jan. 17, 2025, Felix wrote:
“Folks, disregard any list attributed to me that I have not posted here. It is fake!”
DUBAWA’s Google keyword search findings showed no credible media organisation had published the purported list.
The media has been key in publishing Mr Mahama’s list of appointees since his swearing-in on Jan. 7, 2025.

However, no media outlet has published this purported list, making the rounds on social media in the country.
