Explanation
The Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition’s sources in Wenchi revealed that aggrieved community members caused disturbances at the Wenchi Police Station. The aggrieved community members ransacked the police station, calling for the release of the wife of a suspected criminal who had been picked up to help with investigations.
Our investigation further revealed that the aggrieved members released inmates and, in the process, hurt a police officer. The police officer is in a critical condition and is responding to treatment but not dead.
