Claim: A video circulating on social media shows US President Donald Trump praising Ghana, hailing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and announcing plans to visit Ghana.

Verdict: False! The video is AI-generated and manipulated from an unrelated Trump speech. He never made such statements.

A video circulating on social media captures former US President Donald Trump purportedly stating that he would visit Ghana in a few weeks and meet with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Posted on Facebook by an account named Kyei Boateng, the video was captioned: “My Ghana gets some credit, endorsement from my ‘strange’ friend,” implying that Trump had endorsed Ghana as a prime global destination.
In the one-minute-twenty-six-second video, Trump is heard saying,
“I want to say that Ghana is the best country in Africa, the people are amazing, hardworking, and full of energy. I have great respect for Ghana and especially for Otumfour Osei Tutu II… a remarkable chief, more than a prince, a true leader… In two weeks, I will visit Ghana to meet him and experience the incredible culture firsthand… While talking about Ghana, I must mention a young Ghanaian football analyst named Graham. He is an outstanding talent, not just in football but in changing lives through his expertise… I urge you to search for him and get his predictions from his channel…”
This is how some of the audience reacted to the video:
The video was also widely circulated on TikTok by the accounts @GHmediatrend and gained more than 6,000 views on the page @lrhnegixqa (also known as Mr Graham), which has amassed tens of thousands of followers.
Given the video’s virality and potential to misinform, DUBAWA investigated its authenticity.
Verification
Using Google Reverse Image Search and advanced keyword research, DUBAWA found that the viral video was manipulated from a different Trump speech delivered on April 2, 2025, during an announcement of new tariff plans at the White House Rose Garden.
The original video, posted by ABC News and available on their verified TikTok channels, shows Trump discussing the rollout of broad tariffs on all U.S. trading partners, including Ghana.
He described it as a move to “liberate” American industry from foreign dependence, with no mention whatsoever of Ghana, the Asantehene, or Ghanaian culture.
Specifically, Trump said, “My fellow Americans, this is Liberation Day,” and “April 2, 2025, will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn, the day America’s destiny was reclaimed, and the day we began to make America wealthy again.”
There were no references to travel plans, Ghana, or football analysts.
Moreover, if such an endorsement or diplomatic announcement had been made, credible international and local media outlets would have widely reported it.
However, no such reports exist.
Further investigation into the TikTok account @lrhnegixqa revealed a pattern of misinformation.
The user had posted over 50 AI-generated videos featuring famous personalities like Elon Musk, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappé, which promoted his betting and gambling platforms fraudulently.
Conclusion
The video allegedly showing President Donald Trump praising Ghana and announcing a visit to meet Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is Fake and likely generated by AI. It was fabricated using footage from Trump’s unrelated speech on U.S. tariffs in April 2025.
