Full Text

Amid the controversy surrounding the identity of the operator of the ‘Ghana Jollof’ TikTok page, social media users have circulated an image claiming the Police issued a wanted-person notice for Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor, a political social media activist in Ghana.

The image (Archived here) featured the Ghana Police Service logo and branding; it also included Kevin Taylor’s headshot, age, sex, complexion, alleged offence, last-seen location, and a telephone number for information.

As of Sept. 30, 2026, the post had garnered over 700 likes, 300 comments, and 80 shares. It was also shared here.

DUBAWA checked the comments and saw that some users believed the information, while others doubted it. In response to the post, one user, Ralph Kwamina Kanawo, quipped, “What’s his crime exactly?” Another user, Nana Kuami, wrote, “A country where the sitting government appoints the IGP, what do you expect?” Peter Wilberforce Eshun asked, “So why didn’t NPP arrest Kevin Taylor when they were in power?”

Yaw Agyaa showed scepticism, stating, “If they arrest you to provide evidence to the police, can you get one?”

DUBAWA fact-checked the claim because the notice could mislead the public about Kevin Taylor’s current legal status and the Ghana Police Service’s actions.

Verification

A search on the Ghana Police Service’s official Wanted Persons page does not list Taylor among the persons currently displayed as wanted. The page lists other individuals, including Benjamin Owusu, Iddrisu Aminu, Rene Wittke, David Asiedu Agyemfrah, Eunice Appiah Asiedu and Frederick Oppong.

More significantly, the details in the viral graphic closely correspond to a genuine police notice issued on Sept. 17, 2026.

The Ghana Police Service declared Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, also known as “Ghana Jollof,” wanted in connection with an alleged case of inciting violence. The police notice described Kodua as a 40-year-old female with a fair complexion and said she was last seen at the Accra International Airport on Aug. 4, 2022. Police also said they had information suggesting that she could be hiding in the United Kingdom and provided a contact number.

The viral graphic, however, replaces Kodua’s identity with Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor and changes several other details.

It identifies the person as male, describes his complexion as dark, changes the last-seen date to July 21, 2026, and the suspected country of residence from the United Kingdom to the United States.

The alleged offence, “inciting violence,” and the police contact number 0500100010 remain the same. These similarities suggest the viral graphic was altered from the genuine police notice rather than being an authentic notice concerning Taylor.

We conducted a keyword search to determine whether the police issued any such notice. The search led to Kevin Taylor’s previous legal history.

In January 2020, the High Court issued an arrest warrant for Taylor for making a contemptuous statement against the court and the country’s judicial administration. However, Ghana’s Supreme Court quashed the warrant in July 2025 in a 4–1 majority decision.

DUBAWA reached out to the Ghana Police Service for further confirmation on whether Kevin Taylor had been declared wanted, but as of the time of filing this report, the Police had not responded.

Conclusion

The claim that the Ghana Police Service has declared Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor wanted for inciting violence is false. The circulating graphic is a manipulated version of a genuine Ghana Police wanted-person notice concerning Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, alias “Ghana Jollof.”
