In early August 2026, multiple Facebook pages and personal accounts circulated collages featuring aerial views of a large, circular outdoor venue packed with thousands of people, alongside close-up photographs of Shatta Wale performing in a white tank top, headband, sunglasses, and heavy jewellery.
One of the earliest and most widely engaged posts came from the page Bongo Ideas on 2 August.
It carried the caption: “Pictorial images of the massive crowd that pulled up for ShattaFest UK, which got it cancelled. Shatta Wale is a god.” At the time of review, the post had recorded approximately 6,000 reactions, 536 comments and 61 shares.
Similar posts followed from accounts including David Kutando, who garnered 2.3K reactions, 14 comments, 33 shares. Others can be seen here, here, here and here.
Captions varied slightly but consistently claimed the images showed the “massive crowd” or “thousands of fans” who turned up for ShattaFest UK before the show was cancelled due to the overwhelming attendance or safety concerns. Some versions explicitly stated the event was called off because of the size of the crowd.
The posts generated mixed reactions in the comment sections. While many users celebrated the images as proof of Shatta Wale’s popularity, several commenters immediately questioned their authenticity.
The circulation of these images prompted DUBAWA to investigate their true origin.
Verification
DUBAWA examined the original source of the aerial photographs and compared them with the versions shared in the viral posts.
The organisers of Reggae Land posted the same aerial images of their festival setup on their official Facebook page on 1 August 2026.
The post promoted the 2026 edition of the event, scheduled from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August at the Milton Keynes National Bowl.
The official promotional banner for the festival reads: “REGGAE LAND – FRI 31st JULY – SUN 2nd AUGUST 2026 – THE MILTON KEYNES NATIONAL BOWL.”
The identical aerial photograph also appears on the festival’s Instagram account (@reggaelanduk). One post dated 23 July 2026 showed the same packed circular site and carried the caption: “Next weekend, we’re back…” with the hashtag #reggaeland. That post had attracted nearly 4,000 likes.
Meanwhile, side-by-side comparison confirms that the crowd photographs used in the Shatta Wale posts are the exact same images published by Reggae Land organisers to promote their own event.
Nonetheless, the performance photographs of Shatta Wale that were collaged alongside them are older stage shots unrelated to the 2026 Reggae Land festival or any documented UK concert by the artiste around that date.
Also, no credible reports or official statements link these specific photographs to a cancelled “ShattaFest UK.” While Shatta Wale has performed in the UK on previous occasions and any future date would generate interest, the viral images do not depict such an event.
Conclusion
The photographs widely shared on Facebook as evidence of a massive turnout for a cancelled Shatta Wale UK show (ShattaFest UK) are not from any Shatta Wale concert. They originate from Reggae Land 2026, a long-running reggae festival held at the Milton Keynes National Bowl.
