Alfred Walker is the only independent candidate in this year’s general elections. Walker failed to meet requirements to contest in the 2016 presidential elections as indicated by the Electoral Commission but has however been successful this year.
Walker attended Ghana National College for secondary education and went further to complete his tertiary education at the University of Illinois in the United States. He graduated with a dual Masters in 1983; a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts. He again enrolled at North Carolina State University where he focused his study on Design Engineering and Manufacturing under the Masters program at the School of Product Design.
Walker is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of a private development company that he has initiated. He also specializes in infrastructural development projects under Build Own Transfer.
Walker was born into a royal family. His father, Nana Kwame Okanta Obrantiri, was the King of Larteh Akuapem, Paramount ruler of the Guan Tribe and Traditional areas, the royal seat of the Guan tribe in Ghana. He is married with four children.
