Profile of Percival Kofi Akpaloo, flagbearer of LPG

Percival Kofi Akpaloo is the presidential candidate for the Liberty Party of Ghana (LPG) which he formed after dissolving the Independent People’s Party (IPP) in 2017. This will be the candidates’ first time contesting in Ghana’s presidential elections. 

In 2012, the IPP, formed in 2011, contested for five seats in the 2012 parliamentary elections but won none. 

In 2016, Akpaloo again attempted to contest in the Presidential elections but was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC). 

He is also the owner of Doveson Lovell & Co. From October 2005 to January 2007, Akpaloo served as Financial Reporting Accountant for Northern Trust Corporation and was also Financial Controller for Presdel Group Between February 2002 and October 2005. 

Akpaloo is married and is an accountant with an MBA in Strategic Management. He also has a Master of Arts in Accounting from South Bank University and an ACCA in accounting from Emile Woolf College, London.

Roselena Ahiable is a Senior Researcher with Dubawa Ghana. Roselena has years of demonstrated work experience in advertising, sales and marketing, having worked with some of the leading brands in Ghana. She has completed a Master of Philosophy programme in Communication Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon, with specialisation in Public Relations and Advertising. She has also received advanced training in print and broadcast journalism. Roselena also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana. As a trained journalist with interest in research, Roselena provides the team insight in news and media trend analysis.
